Social Studies –
Students completed their look at the geography of ancient Greece and have moved on to forms of government. This is their first look at governments other than democracies and we are spending some time exploring the differences. On Friday there was also a brief vocabulary test.
We will continue looking at governmental systems through Tuesday and will then begin looking at Greek art.
Next week we will start examining the different governments that developed in Greece - including the differences between a democracy and republic.

Science
In science students began and worked on their summative project about cell parts by creating an analogy that relates a cell and its parts to another system. The example we did as a class related a cell and its parts to a city and its parts and functions. This project was done in class on Tuesday and Wednesday and is due on Monday February 5.
We also worked on completing their disease research from last week by writing and presenting a public service announcement as the public relations speaker for the CDC alerting the public about an outbreak of their researched disease.
