Important Information:
Dynamic will be having “Student-Lead Conferences” this spring!
Your student will have a portfolio of their work to present to their parents/guardians and must be present at the conference. They will be sharing the skills they have been developing and their goals as they move forward. The Dynamic Faculty will be there observing nearby to help the students or to answer questions that may come up. The link to sign-up is below.

The students met with Mrs. Bodi today and have the 8th grade course selection and registration forms. The students may turn the form in on Monday 9 March 2015. The students are registered in the order of the day they turn their form in to the office. Please discuss this and work with your student to complete the form so that they can turn it into the Hixson office on Monday.

Science –
In Dynamic Science this week the students began the human Circulatory System unit in order to prepare for the pig heart dissection field trip. We we resume our genetics unit after the pig heart lab.
The two learning goals for Circulatory System unit are the following:
The student is able to describe the path of the flow of blood through the circulatory system.
The student is able to describe the functions of the Circulatory and Respiratory systems.
The following vocabulary words we have introduced and already discussed:

The Dynamic field trip to the Practical Anatomy and Surgical Education Lab at St. Louis University the students participate in the ADVENTURES IN MEDICINE and SCIENCE (AIMS) program to do a pig heart dissection. This is a top notch, state of the art dissection lab! The students will also see a comparison of a healthy human heart compared to a diseased human heart. There are 3 paper permission slips required for this field trip; one for Webster Groves School District and two for St. Louis University Practical Anatomy Lab which was sent home today! Social Studies –
Students have continued with their look
at ancient Rome. We will wrap things up
early next week, and the open note quiz will be Thursday. Students should have been copying their notes
into their notebooks. We will go over
them together on Monday. After we return
from break, students will receive their study guides for the unit and begin
preparing for their unit test.
After school help is available in my room every Thursday until 4:00
