Social Studies –
This week we have been exploring ancient Greek art and architecture. Students have looked at the three main artistic eras - Archaic, Classical, and Hellenistic - as well as an in-depth look at the construction and restoration of The Parthenon. Students also completed a webquest through the BBC that was due on Friday. We will grade the webquest on Monday.
Also on Monday, I will be handing out permission slips for the April 11th field trip to the St. Louis Art Museum. This replaces the field trip originally scheduled in the fall. The total cost to students will be $5.00.
Next week, we will look at Athens and Sparta, and how their differences led to the Peloponnesian War.
