This week: We finished up our spring break snapshots and started our argumentative writing unit with some crime scene investigations! Ask your students whether or not "Queenie" is trustworthy!
Revision Opportunity: students were briefed on the steps they needed to take if they wish to revise their informational writing post-assessment (a summative grade) for a higher grade. They need to:
1. Conference with me (I'm available before school, during lunch and after school) about planned changes.2. Make the planned changes on their Google Doc (they should make a copy of the original so that I can compare the two).
3. Leave a Google Doc comment noting the changes that were made and the score they feel these changes merit.
4. Send me an email (kraushaar.katie@wgcloud.org) to let me know to regrade!
That's it, and I told the students that everyone who revises will see an improved grade with changes!

Math-
We have moved onto multi-step equations this week. There has been some great interest with solving equations and wanting to work through more problems which has been great! We will work on more multi-step equations and word problems next week and will be assessing soon.

Social Studies –
We have continued working
on Ancient Rome this week. Students
began to look at the governmental structures of the Roman Republic and
comparing them with the government in the United States. We will be looking at the change from
republic to empire – Why would people willingly give up self-determination? Next week we will continue with Rome.
