I'm so proud of how Dynamic students are already leaning into the work of reading and writing. Last week students began our first unit that focuses on "What Behind the Name?" The unit will include an assortment of readings: essays, poetry and news articles. Our writing will concentrate on constructing responses that include textual references as well as explanations, and our large writing project will be an informational essay all about their own names.
Students have already leaned into their Personalized Reading Program by starting to track their own reading habits in a reading log located in their school planners. In class, we are discussing the benefits of having a reading program and how to set just right goals (or next steps) to move our reading forward. This Tuesday students will again visit with our librarian to learn how to use the Destiny library system for finding those just right books.

Social Studies –
Students have been asking and answering
the question “How Do We Know What We Know?”
We have been looking at vocabulary and the methods of history through
the lens of Pre-History. Next week we
will begin our study of Mesopotamia.
